Visa requirements vary by destination and your nationality. Many safari countries offer visa-on-arrival or e-visa options. Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda offer the East Africa Tourist Visa ($100) covering all three countries. South Africa is visa-free for many nationalities. Always check requirements 3+ months before travel.
Internal flights save significant time (hours vs. full days of driving) and reduce fatigue, but cost $150–$500 per flight. Driving is more affordable and offers scenic views and wildlife sightings en route. For parks more than 5 hours apart, flying is generally recommended.
Recommended vaccinations include Yellow Fever (required for entry to some countries), Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, and routine boosters (Tetanus, Polio). A travel health consultation 6–8 weeks before departure is essential. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended for most safari destinations.
